Are you an event planner at heart? Then join the Bronco Events and Activities Team (BEAT) in 2017-2018! The BSC will have extended hours during week 10 to provide students with a place to study. Enjoy studying, free snacks and testing supplies (while supplies last).
CAMPUS RECREATION
ASI Campus Rec is offering a professional first aid course. This course trains students in surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries, rescue skills in the water and on land, first aid training and CPR for the professional rescuer, as well as professional lifeguarding responsibilities.
Aquatics is providing a Lifeguard Certification Course that will include the new 2017 update! The course will demonstrate the new lifeguarding skills an individual will need to become a lifeguard. The course will include CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and will demonstrate how to follow local protocols for administering emergency oxygen. The course will be on the following dates: April 28 – April 30.
Spring quarter Intramural (IM) Sports leagues are flag football, soccer, basketball and softball. Divisions are men’s, women’s and co-rec. Team registration is open until Thursday, April 13. To play, purchase your Intramural Sports All Access Pass for $15 at recportal.cpp.edu or Member Services at the Bronco Recreation and Intramural Complex (BRIC, Bldg. 42). Here are some important dates:
April 6: Free Agent Mixer, 6 p.m. at the BRIC poolside lounge
April 11: Bowling Tournament, 5 p.m. at Oak Tree Lanes
April 28: Track & Field Competition, 3 p.m. at Kellogg Stadium
May 5: Badminton Tournament, 3 p.m. at the BRIC courts
May 12: Innertube Water Polo Tournament, 3 p.m. at the BRIC pool
May 19: Goalball Tournament, 3 p.m. at the BRIC courts
Campus Rec Adventures will be hosting an experience-based outdoor trip where students will be guided on a hike through the beautiful scenery of Claremont Wilderness. For only $10, students will be educated about the native plants and animals of the area and explore the diverse ecosystem. The Claremont Wilderness Day Hike will take place April 22 from 8 a.m. to noon. Students interested in participating will meet at the BRIC.
Campus Rec is hosting their second annual Strong Broncos Powerlifting Competition on May 26, from 1-7 p.m. at the BRIC. The competition will be held on the third floor by the power racks, benches and platform areas. Participants will be lifting to their one rep max in any or all three lifts: squat, bench and deadlift. Winners will be selected by the amount of weight lifted in relation to body weight. See the event schedule below:

Warm up: 2-3 p.m.
Competition and Awards: 3-7 p.m.
Powerlifting Workshops are held throughout the quarter to help participants prepare. This spring only, all Powerlifting Workshops are FREE to BRIC Members. Powerlifting Workshop dates are April 20, May 4 and May 18 from noon to 1 p.m.

Are you a CPP student looking to volunteer with the Children’s Center? Be sure to present records of the following immunizations: measles, pertussis, influenza and a current TB test done within the last year. Then, make sure you fill out the application online.
