You have faced significant challenges, including financial hardships, yet your determination and drive remain unwavering. Your perseverance motivates us to advocate in broader spaces, engage in difficult conversations, and ensure that all students feel supported and empowered at Cal Poly Pomona. Our purpose and passion are to serve and uplift you, and we are honored to do so.
Financial Support & Accountability
Financial Support
Objective: Reduce financial barriers for individual students as well as student clubs and organizations by providing guidance and support to access financial resources on campus.
Action:
- Conduct a review on crucial ASI policies to ensure financial obligations are equitable and reasonable in all situations
- Establish clear communication between ASI Financial Services and Student Government
- Partner with the Student Fee Advisory to review key financial resources, including the restructuring of ASI and IRA Fees
Accountability
Objective: Establish a culture of responsibility and dedication within Student Government and Councils to create an extracurricular environment tailored to serving students. Set clear expectations within ASI and work to address large-scale changes from the California State University system.
Action:
- Provide regular updates on the state of ASI Student Government and the CSU system to the general student body
- Work with the Bronco Leadership Center to streamline processes and strengthen communication with clubs and organizations
- Set clear expectations and strengthen relationships with council advisors and ASI staff members
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
Objective: Students of Cal Poly Pomona will be holistically represented in diversity of thought and social identity within all Student Government spaces, while also uplifting wellness and inclusion resources, and advocating for all voices to be heard.
Action:
- Apply equality within the office of Student Government for more inclusive and supportive outcomes
- Maintain active engagement with the initiatives of the Centers for Transformation, Retention, Equity and Empowerment (TREE)
- Spread awareness about opportunities for students to share their experiences on campus
Education & Awareness
Objective: Students will have a stronger connection to ASI Student Government, the Cal Poly Pomona campus, and California State University system resources and developments, as well as a greater awareness of state and federal legislation that directly affect students.
Action:
- Stay connected with applicable campus departments and ensure ASI Board of Directors are effectively reporting to their designated councils and clubs
- Bridge the gap between university and ASI departments with different sectors of campus life by hosting town halls highlighting various co-curricular opportunities
- Educate students about policies and procedures that affect their right to free speech and demonstration, including but not limited to the Interim CSU Systemwide Time, Place, and Manner Policy and the CPP Addendum.
