On the weekend of March 11, Agon Abazi, Associated Students Inc. (ASI) Campus Rec Intramural (IM) Sports official, officiated at the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Region VI Basketball Tournament at Sacramento State University. There were over 30 officials at the Regional Tournament, and Abazi was one of three officials selected to officiate at the NIRSA National Basketball Championships. The NIRSA National Basketball Championships will be hosted by Ohio State University from April 22-24, 2016. Basketball teams from across North America will compete at the National Basketball Championships. Agon is the first official ever from Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) to be selected to officiate at the national level for the NIRSA National Championship Series.
