Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) students showed school spirit during Bronco Spirit Week from Oct. 22-26, in which they participated in a week full of activities planned by ASI’s Bronco Events and Activities Team (BEAT).
Monday Kickoff
ASI’s BEAT kicked off the week with something sweet and something salty as students lined up for cotton candy and piled up their bowls at the tater tot bar. They also had the chance to make a DIY Bronco pride T-shirt for the upcoming Bronco Spirit Parade.
“Bronco Spirit Week Monday Kickoff is a way of hyping up students for the rest of the week with free food and customizable gear,” said BEAT programmer Alejandra Rios.
Bronco Spirit Parade
CPP clubs marched loud and proud from the University Quad to University Park with the help of the CPP Pep Band and the CPP Cheer team.
“I think students may be surprised that we are hosting such an event [Bronco Spirit Parade], but I think they will like the opportunity to celebrate with our campus,” said ASI President Jenny Greenberg.
Rec Wednesday
Students brought their navy, green and gold pride to the Bronco Commons for a variety of sport activities such as human foosball, golf and a basketball shootout. Then they cooled off with refreshing drinks from Jamba Juice and played with some bubbles.
Bronco Basketball Madness
CPP students headed over to the Kellogg Gymnasium to support the CPP Men’s Basketball team with a pep rally. They also got to make their own stuffed Billy The Bronco.
BSW’s Spectacular PartyASI’s BEAT ended the week with their Halloween themed party, in which attendees were encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes. Students snacked on pizza, candy apples and dippin’ dots and danced the night away.
