Associated Students Inc. (ASI)’s Intramural (IMS) Sports program creates an inclusive and enriching environment for students to create everlasting memories while playing competitive sports. The fall 2023 Intramural Sports season has come to an end, and after an action-filled season, the results are in. Clocking in at more than 1,100 participants and 100 teams, the Intramural Sports League has remained a highlight of many Bronco’s Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) experience. Keep reading for accounts from IMS athletes on their experience this semester and for the full results of the fall 2023 season!
“What’s your favorite memory you have made this Intramural Sports season?”
“My favorite memory from Intramurals this year was during basketball, and I tried shooting a 3-pointer, but I missed terribly. I know it sounds bad, but in the moment, it was the funniest thing to happen because my team’s supporters and players were all just laughing with me. It reminded me that IMS isn’t that serious and that it’s a great way to become closer with other people.” – Andrea Mae Cunanan, All-Rec Basketball Player
“My favorite memory that I made in IMS this fall was actually just learning how to play flag football with a great group of people. It was incredible just to come out and play, but winning with them was such a great experience. I was able to meet and grow friendships, though each team and I would have won nothing without them.” – Carolina Rivera, All-Rec Flag Football Champion
“My favorite memory was from the first basketball game. It was my first time playing organized basketball, so I didn’t know what to expect. I got to wear my dad’s old number, 20, so I took it as a good sign of comfort. I scored my first points and made amazing memories with my team. That game itself was the highlight of my season.” – Nick Martinez, All-Rec Basketball Player
