The arrival of spring can mean many different things: new beginnings, growth… allergies. For some, spring is the ideal time of year to clean—hence the term spring cleaning. While busting out the elbow-length rubber gloves and vacuums may make some people feel ready for the warmer months, getting organized and decluttering other aspects of your life can also make you feel rejuvenated for springtime. Here are our recommendations for how you can spring clean your life this season!

Are you struggling to keep all of your important dates, deadlines and assignments in order? Do you want to keep a journal with all of your thoughts in one place? If you answered yes, bullet journaling may be for you! Yes, I know the Buzzfeed Nifty videos may make the concept seem a little intimidating, but you don’t need to be a calligraphist to try your hand at bullet journaling! Start out small with writing to-do lists and personal goals and see if this creative yet organized outlet can help you stay on top of all your tasks.

If you’re tired of seeing the “FLASH SALE! TODAY ONLY!” subject line cluttering your email inbox, there is no shame in unsubscribing! Just scroll down to the bottom of the email to hit the unsubscribe button. It is that easy! If you are trying to save money too, this is a helpful way to keep yourself away from making impulse purchases, so it is really a win-win situation.

Donate what you aren’t regularly using

We are all guilty of keeping our T-shirts from our high school ASB days, but who are we kidding, we aren’t ever going to wear it ever again! Completely take everything out of your closet and drawers and ask yourself if you have worn it in the last year. If the answer is “no,” chances are you won’t be wearing it in the next year either. Take all of these items and donate them to your local Goodwill or Savers! This way, you are always doing some good while decluttering!

Put all your digital photos in one place

If you find yourself searching through your phone’s photos, computer’s photos and printed photos, try putting them all in one space! This can be done a few ways, such as Google PhotosDropbox or iCloud! You’ll be glad you did this when you’re scrambling to show off photos to people or when you just want to reminisce.

Never underestimate the worth of a physical, printed photo! It is easier and cheaper than you would think, too. You can upload your photos online to stores such as Walgreens and CVS, or bring your phone and plug into a kiosk that does all the work for you! Be sure to always look for coupons on photo prints on the store’s website, because there is almost always a great deal!
