As a student, I know we are all looking forward to a much-needed break. And week nine seems to be longer than any week of the semester. Nonetheless, Broncos, we are so close to spring break!
For some students, their spring break is packed with vacations, parties, and the first chance of the year to enjoy some fun in the sun. However, more individuals are opting to stay at home for their spring break. We hope that this selection of binge-worthy shows will help you pass the time during your “staycation!”
In this modern and lavish take on England’s Regency era, we see the outlandish melodrama of “Gossip Girl” meets the high societal expectations of period pieces like “Pride and Prejudice.” It’s juicy and undoubtedly devious. The best way to classify this show is that it’s just pure fun. And as a bonus, season two will be dropping just before spring break on March 25, 2022!

“Only Murders in the Building”
Coming in as the trio you never thought you needed – Martin Short, Steven Martin, and the lovely Selena Gomez – star in Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building.” This murder mystery meets dramedy pokes fun at today’s fascination with true crime while simultaneously offering heartfelt character development. It is a true mystique with plenty of twists and turns. Come for a slow-burning experience with unraveling threads. The show has also been renewed for a second season with Cara Delevingne, Amy Schumer, and Shirley MacLaine set to join the cast.

It would be a crime not to add this Emmy-nominated series to this list. “WandaVision” truly offers something for everyone. There’s an iconic heroine for the geeky superhero lovers, thematic explorations of loss and grief for those seeking a show with a message, and of course, an amazing cast you will absolutely love. But in all honesty, “WandaVision” deserves every nomination, especially Elizabeth Olsen‘s for Outstanding Lead Actress. The show is filled with raw and intense moments yet packed with sitcom references for your pure enjoyment. There is just no other program like it!

After being dumped by her boyfriend of five years, Jules Wiley has realized that she has become entirely socially dependent. Given her options to either become a lonely cat lady or venture back into the world, she chooses the latter, but not without the aid of the three friends she neglected during her relationship. Jules and the girls set out to rebuild her into the best independent woman she can be through absurd social experiments, meticulously deceptive online profiles, and outrageous shenanigans. All while reminding her, and us, how much fun female to female friendships can be.

This series is pure chaos in the best way possible. “The White Lotus” follows different guests who stay at the White Lotus Hotel located in Hawaii. Each episode focuses on a different day of these guests’ vacations and the audience slowly begins to realize that these trips aren’t all that they seem. Between the constant cringe comedy, painfully awkward situations, and increasing suspense lies a mystery that is deeper than you would think. Once you have reached the final episode, you cannot help but sit in awe of everything you’ve just witnessed. And in case you weren’t on board yet, Aubrey Plaza is confirmed to appear in Season 2.

Calling all Book-Tok and fantasy fans because this next listing is for you! Based on best-selling author Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse books, this series immerses you in the war-torn world of Ravka. A country is divided by The Shadow Fold and a zone of impenetrable darkness filled with terrifying monsters. As it turns out, Alina Starkov is the only one who can summon light and bring this darkness to an end. But of course, it’s not going to be as easy. This series features so many wonderful characters that you’ll fall in love with right away and a killer cliffhanger that’ll keep you begging to know Ravka’s fate. Luckily, it’s already been renewed for a second season, where your questions will [hopefully] be answered.

This is a show about a woman in the late 1950s who discovers her affinity for standup comedy and struggles to make a way for herself as a comic in a male-dominated industry. This series creates compelling characters you want to root for and the comedy is always on point. Season four started airing this February and is releasing two weekly episodes. It is the perfect time to start watching!
