If you just finished your binge of “Orange is the New Black” or “Riverdale” and need a little breather before you dive into your next drama series, it can be a good idea to cleanse your TV palate, so to speak. Netflix is home to an abundance of stand-up comedy specials, which all have a run time of just over an hour. To avoid endlessly scrolling through Netflix‘s “comedy” tab, we have gathered our favorite comedians who have found their place on the streaming site.

Perhaps two of the most iconic artifacts in the current comedy world are Ali Wong’s baby bump and large red-framed glasses. In her 2016 special “Baby Cobra,” Wong sports her pregnancy proudly and discusses in detail the ins and outs of her pregnancy and her soon to be motherhood. Flash forward to two years later, her special “Hard Knock Wife,” Wong is pregnant with her second child. This time, she gives audiences her honest and uncensored commentary on being a mother. Her honesty, feistiness and boisterousness make the “Fresh off the Boat” writer a comedian you NEED to watch.

Mulaney’s boyish charm and incredible self-awareness are what makes him stand (pun intended) out in a crowd of comedians. The former Saturday Night Live writer is the host of three specials currently streaming on Netflix: “New in Town,” “Comeback Kid” and “Kid Gorgeous.” Mulaney oftentimes reminisces on his Irish-Catholic roots, strange happenings while he lived in New York City and tells stories of his adored wife. Mulaney has no problem poking fun at himself, and his #relatable anecdotes are not to be missed.

Minhaj’s Netflix special, “Homecoming King” was the first comedy special that brought us to tears. The recently departed star of “The Daily Show” took his routine to the University of California, Davis, where he graduated with a degree in political science. Minhaj eloquently and emotionally explains his experience as a first generation Indian-American Muslim living in the town of Davis, California. Though racism and bigotry he has experienced firsthand are the main themes of this special, Minhaj tells his stories in a real and raw manner, but still manages to make us laugh throughout.

As “Last Comic Standing”’s first female winner, Iliza Shlesinger commands the stage with confidence. Shlesinger stars in four Netflix stand-ups: “War Paint,” “Freezing Hot,” “Confirmed Kills” and her latest release “Elder Millennial.” With jokes that often stem from her observations of society, “Elder Millennial” details the plights of rejection, the issue with being on the older side of the millennial category and her feelings on being newly engaged. Her tales of dating horrors and her infamous “Party Goblin” bit deem her one of the best female comedians in our book.

When he isn’t updating the country on the world’s wackiest news on Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” series, Michael Che leads a comedy career of his own. In his 2016 special, “Michael Che Matters,” Che nonchalantly comments on important societal issues all while making the crowd laugh. His seasoned skills show through brightly as he delivers his thoughts on current issues (including Harambe, it was 2016 after all). His laid-back delivery of comedy will definitely get you thinking and laughing.
Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher

The three-part “Honeymoon Stand Up Special” featuring soon-to-be parents Natasha Leggero and Moshe Kasher is a special unlike any other. The married comedians take their turn with their own set in the first two parts of the special and wrap up with a collaborative “roast” of audience members’ relationships in the third part. With Leggero’s dark humor, Kasher’s contrastingly awkward humor and a tag-team “roast” of real couples, this hour and a half special is definitely worth the watch.
