How many times have you avoided asking your crush out on a date because you didn’t have the budget to show them a good time? You’re not alone! We all know dating can get expensive, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be! Here are a few free date ideas to consider this month.

Does bae enjoy the great outdoors? National Park Day takes place on September 28. This means you’ll be able to get in to any national park for free! This is a great time to hike, picnic or camp at one of America’s beautiful national parks without having to pay the entrance fee. September 28 is specifically National Public Lands day, which means that anyone who volunteers will receive a fee-free coupon to use at a later time. So if your date also likes to giveback, you can have a volunteer date, then go hiking for free for another date opportunity!

The LA County Fair is here! If you missed CPP Day, worry not! There are still a ton of great discounts and ways you can get in for free. Every Wednesday, fair-goers can exchange packaged school supplies for free entrance. You can also donate canned goods every Thursday for the same deal. Not only are you getting an unbeatable price, you’re also helping members of your community since all the donations will go directly to local LA organizations.

Take a day to visit museums in downtown LA! There are so many Instagram-worthy museums for you and your person to check out such as LACMA, The Getty Villa and The Broad. Many of them offer free admission on select days of the week! You can view a list of museums and when their free days are here.

Like jazz? (Maybe don’t use that line to pick up your crush.) But in the event you and your date enjoy listening to jazz music, LACMA hosts live jazz shows every Friday from April to November for you and your date to enjoy! You can view the live schedule of artists here. If jazz music isn’t your thing, you can check out Twilight at the Pier, a concert series held at Santa Monica Pier every Wednesday until September 25! Either way, there is nothing is more romantic that enjoying live music with someone special.
