Do you ever get to a point where you feel like you have nothing left to watch? Maybe you just finished binging the last season of your current show, or maybe you’re a little tired of watching “The Office” for the eight time in a row (yeah, we’ve done that too).

Whatever the case may be, ever consider giving anime a try? Anime is a Japanese style of film or show. Many that haven’t watched before might think it’s for children because it’s all animated; however, this is not the case with its content being highly intended for young adults. There are so many to choose from, which is why we picked out a few of our favorites to get you started!

One Punch Man

In a world where monsters exist and regularly attack the lives of the innocent, a “hero for fun” named Saitama rises. To many, Saitama appears as a regular man; however, he is most likely the strongest character in the series who yearns to fight an opponent that isn’t defeated in a single punch. “One Punch Man” is an easy anime to get into because it’s a comedic anime that relies on humor and parodies but still has a ton of action! If you’re not used to watching in a different language with subtitles, you can watch the first season in English dubbed on Netflix!

Haikyu!!

For those of us who have never had an interest in volleyball, we never knew just how exciting it was until we watched “Haikyu!!” In this anime, we follow the short Shōyō Hinata as he trains to become the ace for the Karasuno high school volleyball team as his icon did before him. This series is a great way to start your journey into anime because it’s not as complex as other series; no crazy villains, just students playing volleyball. Catch the first two seasons on Netflix.

The Seven Deadly Sins

We go back to the ancient times when knights played the heroes. Within this world, Holy Knights were the protectors of the Kingdom of Liones, and the Seven Deadly Sins were among the best in its ranks. After the Sins go into hiding, Princess Elizabeth goes on a mission to gather them for threat within the kingdom. You can watch the first three seasons on Netflix, and do so now because it’s reported that the fourth season will be released sometime later this year.

My Hero Academia

We’re back with another hero pick. In this anime series, humans have developed certain powers, otherwise known as quirks, and some use their quirks for good and some for bad. We follow the journey of Izuku Midoriya as he further develops his newly found quirk to become the number one rated hero. It’s currently in its fourth season, so you’re sure to be able to catch up pretty quickly by streaming it on Hulu.

Attack On Titan

Possibly the most popular anime series on our list, as well as the most dark and serious. Humans live their lives surrounded by large walls which protect them from Titans, large humanoids that consume humans. However, once the wall is breached, the story of Eren Jaeger begins. “Attack On Titan” is reportedly ending after its fourth season, so find out how Yeager and the rest of humanity discover how to survive in a world filled with Titans. You can catch up on all three seasons on Hulu!

Don’t forget that students get a special bundle of Spotify PremiumShowtime and Hulu for only $4.99/month when you verify your CPP email!
