Interested in climbing with us?
Here at the Bronco Peak, we require all climbers to take our Climbing Wall Orientation and Belay Class before they are allowed to boulder and top-rope belay. If you are interested in bouldering or belaying, please be prepared to take an orientation before being allowed to do so. Check out our Orientation Hours!
If you are looking to try climbing for the very first time and aren’t sure if orientation is for you, then you should Try-A-Climb with an Adventures staff member!
Even if you are already experienced in top-roping and bouldering, you must check in with an Adventures staff member prior to climbing. This helps us to ensure all climbers demonstrate competency in the skills required to climb at the Bronco Peak.
All new climbers should check in with a staff member prior to climbing!
Come by and “Try-A-Climb”
Come to Bronco Peak during open wall hours to Try-A-Climb! This free program allows users to get right in and climb 1-2 routes at our wall before deciding to commit to a 2-hour climbing wall orientation. This is a great opportunity to conquer your fears and enjoy the excitement of rock climbing. There are no prerequisites and gear rentals are free.
Climbing Wall Orientation and Belay Class
(CWOBC)
This is a free, mandatory orientation for members who are new to the Bronco Peak or who have not climbed in over a year. This training instructs new users in climbing wall rules, lessons in falling, spotting and belaying. After completing the course, members can climb during open climb hours.
Belay Assessments
To become certified to provide top rope belays for other climbers, members must take a top rope belay assessment by requesting an Adventures Attendant to supervise them belaying another climber.
To become certified to provide lead climbing belays, members must take a lead assessment when a qualified Attendant is on duty. Please ask an Attendant for times when lead assessments are available or email adventures@cpp.edu.
Gear Rental Center
The Gear Rental Center offers affordable access to outdoor recreation equipment to members of the BRIC.
