Are you a current student at CPP?

Do you love free money?

If you answered “YES” to both of those questions, you are in luck because you can earn free money!

As a CPP student myself who works two part-time jobs while attending school full time, I know firsthand how hard it can be to be a student. Discovering Canvas, discussion boards, deadlines, group projects, and exams on top of working to help pay for your finances, such as tuition, books, parking passes, and gas can really take a toll on a person.

So, when does this “free money” come into play?

With CPP Scholarship Fest, CPP’s official scholarship cycle takes place from October 1 through March 2.

Did you know that CPP has more than 300 scholarship opportunities up for grabs? This could be your ticket to alleviating those financial burdens that come with working toward your academic goals!

If you want to learn how you can apply for a scholarship to score you some of that “free money” we keep talking about in four simple steps, keep reading!

Step One: Go to Bronco Scholarship Portal (BSP)

This portal allows current CPP students to apply for multiple scholarships via one application! You read that correctly: one application for multiple scholarships in which you qualify!

Step Two: Sign in with your CPP login information

That’s it. That’s literally the second step, just sign in.

Step Three: Complete the General Scholarship Application

This is your time to tell your story! Express and explain why this scholarship would benefit you! Don’t worry, this isn’t your senior thesis, your essay does not need to be absolutely perfect. However, you can’t just mail it in. At the very least, you should ask someone you trust to review for copy edits or any mistakes. You can also download the free version of Grammarly if you don’t have someone to look over your work. I also recommend using cloud-based software such as Google Docs or Microsoft OneDrive when drafting your essay to prevent it from being deleted if your computer crashes halfway through. Not worth the stress.

Step Four: Once you finish and are feeling confident, submit!

Remember, all applications are due March 2, so don’t sleep on this!

Once you submit, you can sit back and let the system do the rest. The system will automatically match you to scholarships in which you meet the basic criteria!

I do want to note that some of the applications require a letter of recommendation. Don’t wait to ask for letters of recommendation! I can’t stress this enough. My supervisor at ASI writes letters of recommendation for her students all the time. One thing she shared with me is that she loves having the opportunity to help her students by writing recommendation letters for post-graduation jobs, scholarships, internships, and so on. However, she shared that when she is asked to do it at the last minute, it can put her in a bind if she is on a tight deadline at work or if it doesn’t allow her to put as much time into the letter as she would prefer. So, don’t wait to ask. Chances are that the person you are asking will appreciate as much notice in advance as possible.

What are you waiting for? Apply for free money through CPP Scholarship Fest, Broncos!
