Best Coast does their soundcheck before the Homecoming Festival begins.

Couldn’t make it to the amazing Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) Homecoming celebration? Remain calm.  I have a recap of all the awesome shenanigans that went down on Saturday, Feb. 21, right here at CPP!

Student, Moises McCulloh, enjoys bouncing up and down at the Euro-Bungee attraction.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, family and friends gathered for a fun-filled day of activities, attractions, food, games, tours and performances in Bronco Commons. Numerous booths were set up, complete with free giveaways, refreshments and games. Food trucks lined the Bronco Commons field, ready to serve famished guests with incredible Filipino cuisine, Korean BBQ sandwiches, Greek dishes, gourmet pupusas and of course, our very own Poly Trolley!

At the Bronco Commons stage, student bands and DJs performed feel-good and catchy sets in which guests found themselves dancing and singing along to. At 3:30 p.m., Best Coast hit the stage for an incredible set that had everyone—adults and children alike—jamming out. The rock duo performed various fan favorites and even played a few songs from their new album, California Nights, due for release in May 2015!

Afterwards, guests relaxed with various attractions including the petting zoo (which included goats, sheep, horses, bunnies and a pig), CPP campus tram tours, Bronco Recreation and Intramural Complex (BRIC) tours, Euro-bungee, slides, bounce houses, a Ferris wheel and much, much more!

The party didn’t stop with Best Coast, though! At 9:30 p.m., the university hosted a fireworks extravaganza followed by the Homecoming dance in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major (BSC, Bldg. 35-2611).

Don’t believe me when I say this event was a can’t miss? Here are some of the photos students shared about their experiences:
