Off-Campus Housing
Many students opt to live off-campus in apartments or houses in the surrounding areas. This option offers more independence but also requires finding roommates, managing utility bills, and handling rent payments. It is crucial to explore off-campus housing options safely and secure a good deal.
Finding a Place on Your Own:
- Apartment Listings: If you are looking to rent your own apartment, CPP has compiled a local apartment listing reference sheet. This comprehensive guide provides addresses, contact information, and details about nearby apartment complexes. It makes narrowing down your search easier.
- Renting Houses: For larger groups, renting a house in neighboring cities like Chino Hills, Claremont, or Ontario may be the best and most cost-effective option. While these areas may be slightly farther from campus, splitting the rent among multiple residents can significantly reduce individual expenses.
- Here is a list of reputable websites to find houses and apartments in the area:

Finding Roommates or Filling a Vacant Spot:
- Campus Flyers: There are many flyers posted throughout campus by students advertising available rooms or vacant spots in their rented houses or apartments. This is a secure way to make sure you are finding a place with other Broncos. Typically, sharing a house with multiple roommates is more cost-efficient than an apartment.
- CPP Off-Campus Housing Group: One of the safest and most efficient ways to find housing for the school year is by joining the CPP Off-Campus Housing Group. This community is dedicated solely to helping Cal Poly Pomona students secure off-campus accommodations. It is an excellent platform for finding roommates, browsing available housing occupied by students, and looking into nearby housing options.
- Cal Poly Pomona Reddit Page: The university’s Reddit page frequently features posts from students seeking housing or roommates. Engaging with the community can help you connect with potential roommates.
Remember, when connecting with individuals online or exploring off-campus housing options exercise caution and avoid any situations that seem suspicious or unsafe.
