Summer is upon us, which means we finally have some extra time on our hands to watch our favorite comfort shows. This is also the perfect time for us to step outside our comfort zone by giving a new show a chance. Whether you’re chilling at home or taking a road trip, there is a new show out there for you to start watching! Here is a list of new shows that have recently been released!
1. “Stranger Things”

“Stranger Things” is a series that takes place in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. The U.S. Department of Energy is secretly conducting supernatural experiments in the town’s laboratory. They have succeeded in opening a portal to another dimension known as “The Upside Down”. The show centers around a group of kids living in Hawkins, which includes Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Will (Noah Schnapp), and Steve (Joe Keery). After finding out their friend Will was abducted by a creature from “The Upside Down”, the kids team up with Eleven, one of the supernatural human test subjects, in hopes of saving him before it’s too late.
“Stranger Things” Season 4 is being released as a two-volume series. Volume one is available to stream now, while volume two of season 4 is being released on July 1.
2. “Kenobi”

“Kenobi” is the highly anticipated Star Wars spin-off show now streaming on Disney+. The show follows Obi-Wan Kenobi, played by Ewan McGregor, after his exile due to Emperor Palpatine’s Order 66, whose goal was to destroy the Jedi Order and take control of the galaxy without opposition. The show begins about 8 years after “Episode 3- Revenge of the Sith ”. Kenobi has been instructed to watch over Luke Skywalker from afar and when the time comes, train him. When unexpected problems arise due to Darth Vader’s Inquisitors hunting Jedi, Kenobi must decide if he should help and risk exposing himself or stay in hiding and go against everything he has been taught as a Jedi.
New episodes will premiere every Wednesday, with the sixth and final episode ending on Wednesday, June 22.
3. “Only Murders in the Building ”

Following the lives of 3 neighbors who share a love for a true-crime podcast, the group collectively decides to start a podcast and an investigation of their own after there is a murder in their apartment building. The trio gets framed for the crime, and now it is their job to find the real murderer to clear their names. This mystery series includes a star-studded cast starring Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short.
Season 2 will be available to stream on June 28, giving you plenty of time to catch up, or do a rewatch, of season one.
4. “Ms. Marvel”

Just a month after Marvel’s much anticipated “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”, Marvel has released a BRAND-NEW series on Disney+, Ms. Marvel. This six-episode series will explore the life of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), a 16-year-old high school student, who gains the ability to harness cosmic energy. The series will focus on Kamala struggling to learn how to control her powers while navigating high school.
The first episode was released on June 8, and new episodes are dropping weekly on Wednesdays. The season finale airs on July 13.
