Associated Students Inc. (ASI) is pleased to welcome the following new full-time staff members to the team!


Danisha LawrenceDirector of Human Resources, Human Resources

Danisha Lawrence joined the ASI team on December 12 and brings a wealth of knowledge from the CSU and Auxiliary system. Lawrence hails from ASI, CSU Northridge where she worked as human resources manager for three years and has 10 years of experience within the human resources field. At ASI, Northridge she had oversight of human resources activities encompassing recruitment, onboarding, payroll, policy implementation, risk management, benefits management, conflict resolution, training and much more. Lawrence had oversight of human resources related activity within the following departments: Accounting and Financial Services, Student Government, Sustainability, Children’s Center, Sports Club, Outdoor Adventures, and Support Services (Marketing, Ticket Services and IT). Lawrence earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology and master’s degree in public administration both from CSU Northridge. She is dedicated to students and higher education and is currently an adjunct professor at CSU Northridge teaching Human Resources in Recreational Sport and Tourism.


Rosie ArmendarizHuman Resources Generalist, Human Resources

Armendariz brings 14 years of HR experience in the private sector. She previously worked for a gift basket manufacturer as an HR manager responsible for generalist functions. She brings experience in the areas of benefits, staffing, recruitment, employee relations and compliance. Rosie is a passionate HR professional. She strives to offer excellent internal and external customer service. Armendariz holds a bachelor of science in business management from the University of Phoenix. She is very excited to be part of the ASI team.


Drew CaustritaFacility and Operations Coordinator, Campus Recreation

Drew Caustrita started his college career here at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP). As a freshman, he became involved with Greek Life and joined Sigma Phi Epsilon and acquired his taste of Campus Recreation as a participant. Caustrita became a sports official and soon after became an intramural (IM) sports supervisor. He wanted to follow his passion for fitness and became a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. After three years as an IM sports supervisor, personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Caustrita graduated with a degree in marketing management with a sports and entertainment emphasis and was fortunate to become the fitness assistant for Campus Recreation as full-time staff. Caustrita had oversight of the Bronco Fitness Center and all fitness programs within Campus Recreation. After two years as a fitness assistant, Caustrita wanted to further his education and experience and became the graduate assistant for fitness at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). He was earning his degree in higher education with an emphasis in collegiate athletics. While at UNLV, Caustrita had oversight of the fitness equipment, personal trainers, group fitness instructors, fitness attendants and Rebel Wellness Zone attendants. Caustrita had the opportunity to work with the athletic program as a strength and conditioning coach for the UNLV football team and also created a student organization, the Sports Marketing and Management Association while at UNLV. Caustrita was given the Most Outstanding Graduate Assistant Award for Campus Life as a token of his hard work and dedication to UNLV. Caustrita was at UNLV for the past 2 ½ years and soon after, returned to his alma mater, CPP as the facility and operations coordinator. Drew is excited to be a part of ASI again and is looking forward to helping ASI Campus Recreation reach its full potential!


Brayden Wiggins, Audio/Visual CoordinatorConferences and Event Services

Brayden Wiggins is a graduate of the music industry studies program at CPP. In his time as a student, he worked for two years as an audio/visual technician for ASI, while also pursuing additional freelance work and internships in recording engineering and live audio. More recently, he has worked as a stage monitor mixer for the Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena and as sound effects editor for a private recording studio called Sound43. Wiggins’ history with ASI, combined with the knowledge he has acquired working the field, help him to serve the various communities which utilize the services of the Bronco Student Center (BSC), and ASI as a whole. As a recent student himself, he has a passion for reinforcing the student clubs and organizations with the appropriate audio/visual technologies and expertise required to successfully put on a variety of events that take place in ASI’s many programmable locations. Beyond that, he believes in serving the student assistants as well, by providing them with an opportunity to learn about specific technologies, while also honing professional and life skills that will benefit them in a multitude of environments beyond the university setting. He looks forward to the future of ASI and hopes to see the community and programs continue to grow, just as he hopes to grow in his time serving as ASI audio/visual coordinator.


Jason ShawAssociate Director of Facilities ManagementFacilities

Jason Shaw came to ASI at CPP October 2016. Shaw started working at CPP in 2002 in the registrar’s office as an analyst. In this role, he was part of the PeopleSoft implementation. Shaw left CPP in 2005 and obtained his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in public administration from California State University Dominguez Hills. Shaw has over 12 years of experience supervising facilities maintenance operations, experience managing facilities projects and managing and preparing budgets.


Darlene SherwoodPayroll Coordinator, Human Resources

Darlene Sherwood attended Citrus College where she received her associate’s degree in business administration. Sherwood’s professional career began as an accounts payable manager. She was offered a position as a payroll clerk and after over 18 years with the same company, was promoted several times and left as the payroll manager. Sherwood joined ASI in December 2015 on a temporary assignment working on special projects. Sherwood officially joined ASI as the payroll coordinator on September 12, 2016.

 


Allyson CaudellFitness Coordinator, Campus Recreation

Allyson Caudell is an energetic fitness enthusiast with more than 10 years of experience. Caudell, fitness coordinator, oversees fitness programs, services, and approximately 30 student staff for ASI Campus Recreation. She joined the ASI team in November 2015, serving as interim fitness coordinator and most recently appointed fitness coordinator.

Prior to ASI, Caudell served as fitness manager in the Department of Athletics for Brown University from 2011-2015. During her first year, she was instrumental in the planning and procurement of fitness equipment selection and design for Brown University’s recreation center. In April 2012, she helped to open Brown’s Nelson Fitness Center. While at Brown, Caudell managed five fitness centers and all aspects of fitness programs, services and personnel. Caudell was also an elected member of the President’s Staff Advisory Council and served on other University committees and task groups.

Caudell received her master’s in recreation and sport sciences at Ohio University serving as fitness graduate assistant for the Ping Recreation Center. She received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and health fitness instruction from Grand Valley State University in western Michigan. As an undergraduate student, Caudell was actively involved in campus recreation as a personal trainer, fitness instructor and wellness center associate.

Caudell is passionate, dedicated and committed to fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle. She is an active personal trainer, fitness instructor and bikini fitness competitor in the area. You can also find Caudell teaching group fitness classes in the BRIC. Caudell is thrilled to be part of the ASI team and excited to fuse her love for fitness and higher education as fitness coordinator.


Uyen NguyenLead Financial Service Coordinator, Financial Services

Uyen Nguyen is very excited to join ASI Financial Services as a lead financial services coordinator. Her academic background includes chemistry, economics and accounting with over eight years of accounting experience in the economics consulting and commodity trading industry. At work, Nguyen enjoys reconciling ledger accounts, data mining and financial reporting. During the weekend, she enjoys eating dim sum and going to the beach with her family. In her spare time, she loves to watch the Travel Channel as she aspires to experience all the wonders of the world.
