Flexible Work Schedule

Remote – The position’s work consists of a flexible workspace. Employees’ work is primarily virtual; however, the employee may be expected to be on-site on occasion. Employees are required to reside in the state of California.

Hybrid – The position’s work mode will fluctuate between working remotely and on-site. Employees are required to reside in the state of California.

On-site – The position’s work mode will be on-site. The employee will report to one of the ASI facilities or to the field location.

Sick Leave

Upon completion of 90 working days, student employees are eligible to receive and use 24 hours of paid sick leave. The full policy is available to employees upon hire.

Eligibility

A few requirements need to be met to work for ASI.

Must be eligible to work and have the legal right to work in the United States. Form I-9 document verification must be completed by the student at the time of hire. Learn more about the I-9 documents you will need to provide.

A background check (including a criminal records check) or Live Scan may be required. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check or Live Scan may affect the application status of applicants or the continued employment of current ASI employees who apply for a new position within ASI. If a position requires a background check or Live Scan, it is specifically noted in the job posting.

Employment with ASI is open to any Cal Poly Pomona student who is at least 16 years old and of legal status to work in the United States. In addition, the employee must be currently enrolled in at least 6.0 units (undergraduate) or 4.0 units (graduate), and international student employees must be enrolled in a minimum of 12.0 units (undergraduate) or 6.0 units (graduate) at the end of the drop-add period, have a minimum 2.0 GPA (both Cal Poly Pomona and overall GPA) and be in good standing with the University. Individuals enrolled only in Extended University are not eligible for hire. Exceptions to the unit load requirement are allowed during the summer and winter semesters and for students who have applied for graduation for the current semester.

ASI does not offer a Federal Work-Study program

Student employees are required to have a minimum overall and Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 2.0 and be in good academic standing with the university.

International students currently enrolled at Cal Poly Pomona with an F-1 visa are eligible for employment with ASI. If offered a position with ASI, students will be required to provide ASI Human Resources (HR) with a valid social security number before working their first shift. The process of obtaining a social security card can take a couple of weeks to several months. For more information on how to obtain a social security number, visit the Cal Poly Pomona International Center.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) students are eligible to apply for student employment with ASICPP and are not required to disclose their status to ASI during any portion of the hiring or onboarding process. If offered a position, students will be required to provide ASI HR with original and unexpired documents to satisfy the Form I-9 requirements as set by the Department of Homeland Security. View the Form I-9 acceptable documents.

Essentials for a Candidate

You have been offered the position, what’s next? The Human Resources (HR) department will begin communicating with you via the associatedstudentsinc.hr@adp email. Your onboarding experience and background check or Live Scan forms (if applicable) will be provided via email. You will be able to review documents digitally and complete the ADP hiring wizard online. However, you will be required to provide HR with original and unexpired documents that satisfy the I-9 requirement as set by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). An appointment will be scheduled for verification of I-9 documentation. Prepare ahead of time and ensure you have the necessary I-9 documents with you. Copies, photos, or other versions of the original document(s) will not be accepted. List of acceptable I-9 documents.
