The 2026-2027 ASI Action Plan is dedicated to our incredible student body, whose resilience and work ethic continue to inspire us. You have faced significant challenges, including financial hardships, yet your determination and drive remain unwavering. Your perseverance motivates us to advocate in broader spaces, engage in difficult conversations, and ensure that all students feel supported and empowered at Cal Poly Pomona. Our purpose and passion are to serve and uplift you, and we are honored to do so.

Consistency Pillar

Goal: Ensure all students—regardless of ability, status, or background—can access campus resources, information, spaces, and leadership.

Strategies & Actions:

  • Improve Physical and Digital Access
    • Work with Facilities to identify and advocate for universal design upgrades in student buildings.
    • Develop guiding documents for universal design with buildings on campus
    • Have multilingual content for those who are ESL speakers
  • Information Transparency
    • Using Bronco Banter and our own Instagram (cppasi.presidents) to explain what is going on within ASI, and how it benefits our communities
    • Host a Tea with A & B as a way for students to meet with their President and Vice President
  • Presence and Outreach
    • Create “Meet Your Rep” tabling events in high-traffic areas to increase visibility and interaction.
    • Showing face at events and going to individual identity centers to hear what students truly need from us

Goal: Actively support and uplift students from marginalized or and protection.

Strategies & Actions:

  • Protect and Support Undocumented and Marginalized Students
    • Collaborate with the Undocumented Student Services Center to advocate for funding, privacy protections, and campus safety.
    • Issue formal statements of solidarity and support in response to attacks on student identities.
    • ICE Resolution
  • Partner with Identity Centers and Organizations
    • Develop a standing coalition of identity-based student groups that meets monthly to share concerns and develop initiatives.
    • Look into funding for the next year to best support our Identity Centers
  • Student Needs Assessment
    • Launch a campus-wide survey each semester to assess needs, with a focus on housing insecurity, food access, and safety in collaboration with the CARE Center
    • Present findings to university administration to advocate for direct solutions.

Goal: Elevate the student experience by increasing engagement, building community, and improving ASI programming.

Strategies & Actions:

  • Boost Student Participation
    • Incentivize attendance at ASI events through giveaways, food, or class incentives (in partnership with professors)
    • Create an “Engagement Passport” where students earn rewards for attending a range of ASI activities
  • Event Inclusivity
    • Evaluate all events with a DEI lens to ensure they are welcoming, inclusive, and culturally responsive
    • Offer multilingual promotion and interpreters as needed to ensure broader participation
  • Enhancing individual colleges
    • Offering support to our Senators to ensure they’re able to accomplish their goals for the year
    • Mini-Action Plans to ensure goals are tangible and outline a path to success
