Due to the serious and unforeseen technical issues facing Cal Poly Pomona’s Central IT services, the ASI Student Government Elections have been postponed. Once the technical issues have been resolved and the integrity of the voting system has been reestablished, the ASI Elections Committee will announce new dates for voting and the student body will be informed.
Information about ASI Elections, the candidates, and voting will be updated on the ASI website at: asi.csupomona.edu/elections
Online voting for Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Elections 2013 begins this Monday, May 13 at 12:00 a.m. and ends Thursday, May 16 at 11:59 p.m. All currently enrolled students are eligible to vote. To vote, log in to the Cal Poly Pomona BallotBox and sign in with your BroncoName and BroncoPassword.
There are three areas students can vote on during this year’s ASI Elections.
1) Student Government Candidates
All students can vote for one presidential and vice presidential candidate and for each of the three at-large candidates. Only students who have declared a major in a certain college are allowed to vote for college senator candidates.
2) Student Success Fee referendum
There are two options when it comes to the funding reallocation due to the Student Success Fee.
3) ASI By-Laws referendum
Most years, student government leaders update the ASI By-Laws, which serve as parameters ASI must work within. Usually, minor changes involving changes to the language are done. This year, the proposed revision has to do with the number of voting members required to take action during meetings.
As with any election, it’s best to go in informed. For in-depth read to help you be an informed voter, see the Top 3 Need-to-know Items About ASI Elections 2013.
Results for ASI Elections 2013 will be announced at noon on Friday, May 17 at the Bronco Commons during Billy Bronco’s Birthday Party.
