With a less than a month before Election Day and only a week left to register to vote, Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) is set to register voters with a new twist on Oct. 15.
ASI President Christopher Osuala and his fellow student government leaders will continue their unrelenting effort to register voters. The leaders hope to register 1,000 voters before Election Day. At press time, ASI’s student leaders were more than halfway to their goal.
But this voter registration effort is much different than those in the past; students may find extra inspiration to register with the help of 7-Eleven.
The convenience store giant is set to make a show of its own, bringing its “7-Election” campaign to Cal Poly Pomona from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University Park. As part of this voter registration event, free 7-Eleven coffee samples will be distributed from a truck that folds out as a mock Oval Office.
Actors dressed as President Barack Obama and Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney will be posing for pictures. Use the hashtag #CPPVotes to share your thoughts and photos during the event.
The last day to register to vote for the 2012 presidential election is October 22 so take advantage of the opportunity to register with your ASI student leaders.
