BroncoFusion 2011 kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 21, which means there’s less than a week until the annual event amasses Cal Poly Pomona students at Bronco Commons.
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with a resource fair that will allow students to mingle with campus staff and faculty to discover available programs and services.
A club fair will take place at 5 p.m. for students to get a chance to explore the plethora of clubs and organizations eager for new members and exciting experiences.
AWOLNATION, the event’s headlining act, is expected to take the stage at 9 p.m.
Performances by Cal Poly Pomona clubs and organizations such as the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, the Phi Tau fraternity and Ballet Folklorico Ollin de Aztla will begin at 5 p.m. Also preceding AWOLNATION are artists such as “A-Roc and a Hard Place,” “DJ Beefam,” “WhyteBoy” and “Finish Ticket.”
AWOLNATION is a Los Angeles-based indie-electronic-alternative rock solo project was formed in 2010 by lead singer Aaron Bruno, former member of Under the Influence of Giants and Home Town Hero.
The group’s debut album, “Megalithic Symphony,” was released in March and dubbed by iTunes as one of the “Greatest Albums of 2011.” Its first single, “Sail,” is a nod to Styx’s “Come Sail Away” and hit No. 8 on USA Today’s alternative airplay chart.
