By now I think we all know the single most important event to rock the world this year. Yes, I’m talking about Zayn Malik‘s departure from One Direction. The band has been together for five years, producing roughly one album per year.

Malik cited his reasoning behind leaving as, “I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
Malik’s first track premiered as a rough cut on SoundCloud tweeted by producer Naughty Boy within days of Malik’s announcement regarding leaving One Direction. The track has since been deleted, but not before Directioners could repost the track, with lyrics, to YouTube.
Dedicated “fangirling” aside, the real problem with Malik’s departure is his breach of contract. While some fans may be fully supportive of Malik’s decision, others are in a fury.

And rightfully so. Tickets for One Direction concerts go on sale a year in advance. This means fans have to plan their budget, travel accommodations, schedules, time-off from work (for those advanced in age), chaperons (for those juvenile in age) and more; A YEAR IN ADVANCE.
That adds up BIG time. Not to mention that some fans bought tickets only to get a glimpse of Zayn Malik.
Modest Management, the management firm representing One Direction, has remained quiet in regards to Malik’s sudden departure.
