Mission

The Children’s Center, welcomes you to visit and volunteer at our facility! The Center provides preschool and child care services to student, faculty, staff and community parents with children 2 years through 5 years of age or until entry into first grade.


Objectives

  • Students will gain knowledge of current scientific based teaching methods
  • Students will be provided with the tools and resources needed to obtain a degree in Child Development and Liberal Studies

Enrollment

Students must either be enrolled in Pomona Unified School District High Schools or Mt. San Antonio College Child Development courses. Cal Poly Pomona Students who are enrolled or have taken Child Development courses and are currently pursuing a degree in Liberal Studies are also eligible.Interested applicants must complete the Enrollment Application, and schedule an Intake appointment with the Program Coordinator.


G.P.A Requirements

Students must maintain a 2.0 GPA.

Student Agreement

  • Enroll in 6 or more units at Cal Poly Pomona (Liberal Studies) or Mt. SAC (Child Development)
  • Meet with Education Advisor Each term
  • Submit schedule of classes each term
  • Submit transcripts at the end of academic year (June)
  • Attend on Professional Development Workshop each term
  • Apply for Child Development Permit
  • Complete Child Observation/Internship hours at the Cal Poly Pomona Children’s Center
