5 Staples For a College Guy’s Closet

college guy's closet

Even if you don’t think of yourself as a stylish guy, you probably still take time to look your best. With a few key pieces in your closet getting dressed in the morning can be a no-brainer.

Having the following versatile items in your closet can take you from a day at school, to a job interview, internship and a night out with friends.

1. Sturdy shoes
You’re growing up so, that means skip wearing sneakers or skater shoes once in a while. Jack your grandpa’s style by sporting some leather loafers. Trust me, you’ll look cool wearing some dark brown or green leather grown-up shoes.

2. Denim and Chambray
Of course, denim jeans are always in style and they’re a classic closet staple. But I’m talking about denim shirts here! They’re casual but can still look good for a business meeting, networking event, date night or whatever else you’ve got planned.

3. Leather wallet
It’s a must. Every guy has a leather (or pleather) wallet. Why? Well, they’re generally a pretty durable item to stash your cash. If yours is looking beat up and falling apart, do yourself a favor and update it this season.

4. Button up
As with denim and chambray shirts, button up shirts of all kinds can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Even a “jeans and T-shirts” guy should have at least one button up in his closet for special events and one that’s a bit more casual.

5. Cardigan
When a sweatshirt won’t do, but it’s not cold enough for a coat, just put on a cardigan. They’re simple, classy and look great on everyone.
