Imagine riding a hot air balloon and sipping a cup of hot cocoa while watching a movie on an outdoor screen, then hopping on a choo choo train– all while on campus.
Except don’t just imagine it. Do it! Yes, you really can ride a hot air balloon on campus. How crazy is that?
It’s all part of Midnight Madness, the annual event put on by the Bronco Events and Activities Team that lets students take a break the Friday before finals week. This year’s theme is Global Madness, so get ready for a journey around the world on Friday, Nov. 30.
Outdoor activities, including the hot air balloon rides and choo choo train, will start at 9 p.m. Activities inside the Bronco Student Center (BSC) will be from 10 p.m. until midnight.
Inside the BSC there will be laser tag, a dance party, cultural performances, henna tattoos, a photobooth, free food and more. The hot air balloon ride will be at the Engineering Meadow. The choo choo train will be going back and forth between the BSC and the meadow.
It’s ASI BEAT’s biggest event of the quarter and it should be on everyone’s Bronco Bucket List.
To get updates and tell everyone you’re in for the adventure, join the Facebook event here.[Update: Nov. 30, 2:25 p.m.] Due to the predicted rain and wind conditions, the hot air balloon and miniature train will not be at this event and will be rescheduled for a different quarter. They will be included in either a winter or spring ASI BEAT event.
