Teams go head-to-head in Hantis Tournament

G-Code smashed the Super Smash Brothers in two of three rounds at Campus Recreation’s Hantis Tournament on Nov. 8 to become the day’s winner.
In total, ten teams competed for three rounds on either side of the bracket until G-Code and the Super Smash Brothers remained.

AJ Iroko, Ashcon Hekmat and Brendan Osinki of G-Code claimed victory in two of three matches, defeating in each game the Super Smash Brothers with a score of 21-12 and the Champions with a score of 21-19.

Hantis is a game requiring a tennis ball, a table and four players. The players can hit the ball twice with any part of their body.

The game is essentially a more intense and fast-paced version of table tennis.  Hantis was brought to Cal Poly Pomona in May by Campus Recreation.

If you missed the tournament, Campus Recreation will be hosting Hantis as an intramural sport during Winter Quarter. To register, sign up online and visit the Campus Recreation office to pay the $20 registration fee and sign the waiver. Make sure to review the Intramural Sports policies. Sign-ups will begin in Week 10.
