Children’s Center events incorporate holiday traditions

Volunteers help children with pumpkin patch

Don’t be caught off guard by the cuteness on campus. As Fall Children’s Center events get underway, you may see the young students in green aprons exploring campus with their teachers for a variety of fun learning experiences.

The Children’s Center at Cal Poly Pomona creates engaging activities for children enrolled in the program ages two to five years old. The campus community is invited to support the center in a variety of upcoming fall events.

Events include:

Oct. 17 – Farmer’s Market Literacy event- beginning at 10 a.m.
Oct 24 – Pumpkin patch- Farm Store, beginning at 10 a.m.
Oct 31 – Harvest Hat Day Parade – Bronco Commons and Bronco Student Center, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Nov. 8 – Fire Department visiting, 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Nov 15 – Thanksgiving luncheon – Ursa Major, one from 11 a.m. to noon and another from noon to 1 p.m.
Dec. 12 – Caroling in the  Bronco Commons – Bronco commons, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Dec. 21 – Make and Take Literacy Day (Ornaments and pictures with Santa) – 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

To volunteer, come to the Children’s Center (Building 116 near the Suites and behind the Bookstore) to fill out a volunteer application. Two professional and one personal reference are needed. Volunteers must show proof of a TB test in the past year.
