Come out on April 6 for this month’s First Friday: Urban Showcase event focusing on art, history and culture of the hip-hop community.

The event is scheduled between 4:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. at various locations around campus.

A food and art fair, DJ workshop, open mic stage and $1 Roundtable Pizza slices will be available in University Park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will also be an opportunity drawing to attend the seventh annual Paid Dues Independent Hip Hop Festival taking place this Saturday, April 7.

Wes Jackson, founder of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, will be speaking in Ursa Minor about the history of hip-hop from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The main event of the night will be a live performance by Dumfoundead  and Rocky Rivera  from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Video game tournaments and free table games such as pool, ping pong and air hockey will be available in the Games Room, Etc.
