Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) is known for many things, from our academics to our athletics, but did you know about our award-winning marketing department? The Associated Students Inc. (ASI) Marketing, Design and Public Relations (MDPR) department is one of the most well-respected groups on campus. Students and professional staff alike collaborate to create our campus’ graphics, brochures, bulletin boards, poster designs, social media, photography, video and much more. Here are the most important things you need to know about this creative team.

The Marketing Communication (MarCom) team includes writer/editors who manage content on ASI’s website, ASI social media including FacebookInstagramTwitter and Snapchat as well as The Campus Crop, ASI’s official blog! Ever wanted to get your own story published? Submit stories to The Campus Crop! It’s an easy way to get your message out and your voice heard.

 

MDPR graphic designer American Advertising Awards gold award

MDPR’s graphic designers are the creative masterminds behind all the logos, posters and artwork that you see all over campus. These graphic designers have consecutively won awards at the American Advertising Awards, also known as the ADDY Awards. This past March, 15 of the graphic designers were awarded for categories in Illustration, Illustration – Campaign, Integrated Advertising Campaign, Poster Design and Logo Design. Works by these graphic designers have also been showcased at the Poly-Kroma exhibition hosted by the CPP Department of Art.

Graphic designers also provide services to various organizations on campus. Organizations can purchase digital marketing such as logo designs, brochure designs, digital bulletin boards, stakes, plastic sleeves and poster designs for their own program or event!

Thanks to the Operations team, the MDPR office is able to stay organized. Some of their tasks include making orders for the office, managing all MDPR accounts and tending to day-to-day business duties at the front of the office. This team processes all creative requests, work orders and handles invoicing and billing. They are the liaison between vendors and clients and consult with clients about budgeting. Need to talk to MDPR about marketing? MDPR Operations are who you need to call.

Like the look of this website? MDPR’s award-winning web developers are responsible for producing content for the ASI website and The Campus Crop. With their extensive knowledge of coding, they work together to create and manage web pages and redesign ASI’s various websites.

Next, MDPR’s Multimedia Developers create all of ASI’s videos. From the filming process to creating motion graphics and editing, they create video content entirely by themselves. These videos can be seen on ASI’s YouTube channel which features everything from event recaps, interviews, promos and workout videos. Check out their recent project, “You Belong Here, which discusses the benefits of joining ASI. All of the photos you see on ASI’s social media accounts are taken by MDPR’s photography team. These photographers capture every Kodak moment at every ASI event. Through these photos, people can get a taste of what being a Bronco is really like.

 

ASI Student Experience presentation

MDPR also hosts a variety of events each year. One of them is the quarterly event, ASI Presents: The Student Experience which introduces students to ASI and all of the involvement opportunities they offer to help students enhance their college experience. The next presentation of The Student Experience will include prizes, giveaways and free food on October 26 from noon to 1 p.m. at the BSC, Ursa Minor (Bldg. 35-2135). You don’t want to miss it!
