That’s right, Florida, no longer will you be the only state to boast the magical dwellings of Hogwarts and the various storefronts of Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley. Take your smugness and freshly-squeezed orange juice, because we’re catching up full speed on our Nimbus 2000s.
In celebration of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’s April 7 unveiling in Hollywood, below are the stages we’re no doubt experiencing during the wait.
Nothing but the purest of excitement. You’ve already envisioned the necessities you’ll pack, the comfortable sneakers you’ll wear and the snacks you’ll bring. Chocolate toads, anyone? Jelly beans that taste like earwax?
You’re in denial that the unveiling is ALL the way in April, which is a bit over a month away. It’s practically next week, you tell yourself. Everything’s fine. You’re bound to get that Hogwarts acceptance letter soon enough. Maybe there’s just no post today. What day is it? Is it Sunday?
Frustration is boiling to the surface because April seems increasingly far away. People are telling you to calm down because it’s just an amusement park. JUST an AMUSEMENT PARK? Yeah, and the seven horcruxes were just horcruxes. Whatever.
Is there any way to possibly speed this process along? Can’t we sacrifice another amusement park if it were to warrant a quicker opening? Pretty sure we could do without Knott’s or Raging Waters. I’ve never felt the compelling need to wade in water filled with children’s waste. Our bags are already packed. We’re ready to go.
You’ve fallen into a melancholic funk because your feet have yet to hit the pavement of this magical place. Everything’s terrible. Everything’s sad. You’re dwelling on every little thing. Why was Dumbledore such a celebrated character when he seemingly used Harry as a human pawn? Why couldn’t James be nicer to Severus in his youth?
The concluding stage of this very difficult time. Perhaps April isn’t too far off after all. It’s probably best to just continue on with life. The time will come soon enough, and the wait is sure to be worth it. It’s safe to say that this positive outlook won’t remain intact once it actually opens, though; the crowds will be insane.
But seriously, is it April yet?
