Anticipation is building with the long awaited arrival of the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI), Bronco Recreation and Intramural Complex (BRIC) opening this fall! We know you all are hanging by the edge of your seats with all the interesting and exciting information ASI has shared with you via Facebook and Twitter. With the addition of this new 120,000 square foot facility comes new programs, events and staff members! We would like to take the time to acknowledge and welcome some of the new ASI Campus Recreation staff members with a series called “Fitness Instructor Spotlight.”
This week we would like to give a big Bronco welcome to fitness instructor Bridget Goodwin. Goodwin has been a certified Jazzercise and Spinning instructor for two-years, teaching classes that are choreographed to the hottest music. Her group dance classes combine dance-based cardio with strength training and stretching to sculpt, tone and lengthen muscles for maximum burn.
Let’s get to know Bridget Goodwin.
I have always been passionate about having FUN while staying active and I know that the right activity can truly enrich one’s life. I wanted to bring out the best in others by allowing them to make their workout something they love to do… all while being the one to pick the music, of course!
What is your favorite hobby outside of teaching?
Dancing for sure. I try to take technique classes as a student as often as possible (jazz and ballet are my favorites) and I regularly attend dance concerts and showcases.
What do you look forward to most about teaching at the BRIC?
Meeting new people while encouraging the students and staff of Cal Poly Pomona to create healthy habits and move!
Favorite Cheat Meal:
Domino’s White Sauce Pizza. I mean, have you tried it?… You would agree.
Favorite Music Track (for class):
Anything by Flo Rida
We think that Bridget is an excellent addition to the ASI and CPP community.
What’s Jazzercise? Find out here. Then make sure to attend one of her classes in the BRIC this fall! Be sure to follow Campus Recreation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more details about what’s to be featured at the BRIC.
