Howdy, partners! Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Bronco and Events Activities Team (BEAT) hosted the first Dance the Line event which was held, April 10 in University Park.

“We’ve had line dancing in other BEAT events, but we had this idea to make it it’s own event,” said Sasha Kornilova, ASI BEAT programming chair.

Over 60 students took part in the line dancing lessons provided. They danced a few routines to the tune of country songs such as “Achy Breaky Heart” by Billy Ray Cyrus, “Cotton-Eyed Joe” by Rednex, and “Country Girl (Shake it for Me)” by Luke Bryan to name a few.

“A lot of the attendees were asking me if BEAT was going to do this again next year, ” said Kornilova. “It went really well this year and there’s a lot of interest in the event so I hope next year’s BEAT chairs will do this again next spring.”
