First Annual Recreational Festival to Hit CPP

First Annual Recreational Festival to Hit CPP

recfest2

This past Friday, March 7, you didn’t need to go to the  Bronco Fitness Center (BFC) to work up a sweat. Associated Students Incorporated (ASI) Campus Recreation brought the students of Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) an inflatable rock wall and obstacle course, free Poly Trolley samples from their new menu, Bronco Recreation Intramural Complex (BRIC) tours, an opportunity drawing, ASI information booths, free games and even a late-night Zumba Dance Party. All of this was featured at the first annual recreational festival known as Rec Fest.

Rec Fest was ASI’s March First Friday, hosted by Campus Recreation to celebrate healthy living. The event started at 4 p.m. and continued until 11 p.m.

Rec Fest also marked the launch of the new ASI Recharge campaign that highlights all of the activities and amenities of the BRIC (opening fall 2014) that will assist students in recharging themselves while maintaining the busy lifestyle of a college student.

While checking out the information booths, you would’ve been one of the first to gain information about the future BRIC job offerings, as well as knowledge of a few ASI jobs that are up for hire now. ASI Human Resources provided information on the job offerings for the facility and could answer any questions you may have had.

DJ Just Pudge was playing some great workout tunes as you experienced all of the Rec Fest activities. The inflatable obstacle courses were definitely popular, as well as the games you could participate in, like the beanbag toss, Hantis and basketball shooting challenge.

Here’s to hoping that you didn’t miss this fantastic event! Don’t forget about the BRIC Wall Art Contest! Two winners will be selected, one for each studio, and each winner will receive an iPad Mini with Retina Display. For more information, visit: http://bit.ly/1ixn7OC.
The winner of the Rec Fest contest will be notified on Friday, March 14, so be watching for that if you submitted a photo.

For more good times with ASI, make sure to come to Midnight Madness, which is this Friday, March 14. It’ll help you relax before finals!
